About This Resource
“Live My Digital for Parents” is a 6-episode YouTube series created by Digital Awareness UK in collaboration with A Girls’ Day School Trust Production. The video series aims to educate and advise parents about different digital issues surrounding online safety, raising awareness of the dangers of digital technology. Parents will learn to recognize, understand and manage these problems with their children, creating a safe online environment.
In the sixth episode, Emma Robertson, Digital Awareness UK Co-founder, introduces the topic of “Sexting”, illustrating the dangers of exchanging sexually explicit content online. Parents are given tips and advice on understanding the risks and lifelong consequences it can bring to children. They are further given solutions for dealing with provocative photography that has been sent or received by their children. As sexting is becoming more prevalent amongst young people, parents must help children understand the damage sexting can cause.
