About This Resource

“Live My Digital for Parents” is a 6-episode YouTube series created by Digital Awareness UK in collaboration with A Girls’ Day School Trust Production. The video series aims to educate and advise parents about different digital issues surrounding online safety, raising awareness of the dangers of digital technology. Parents will learn to recognize, understand and manage these problems with their children, creating a safe online environment.

In the third episode, Emma Robertson, Digital Awareness UK Co-founder, introduces the topic of “Identity and Self-esteem”, unveiling the toxic beauty standards set by social media. Advice on mental and identity issues is provided, allowing parents to help their children feel more confident and comfortable in their own bodies. As social media creates pressure on children to emulate unrealistic beauty standards, parents must help them understand and encourage body positivity.
