About This Course

Created by Digital Awareness UK in partnership with the HMC, ‘Tech Control – Live Your Life’ is the first in a three-part series of resources to help promote the healthy and positive use of technology. This video aims to educate the audience on how to sleep and study without interruption from technology. Driving awareness in this space will help to protect children from the physical and emotional side effects of unproductive studying and sleep deprivation.

The Tech Control resources encourage you to come up with practical solutions to help ensure technology has a productive influence on children’s overall health and well-being. This is achieved through the promotion of digital resilience, critical thinking and digital awareness.

Digital Awareness UK is an online safety and digital wellbeing agency founded by the @DigitalSisters Emma and Charlotte Robertson. Working in partnership with organisations such as the United Nations, Vodafone and Microsoft, Digital Awareness UK empowers schools and families around the world to help children use technology positively.

Who is it for?

  • Parents of children aged 11-18
  • Parents who are curious about the healthy and positive use of technology

Viewing this resource will take you approximately 5 minutes. By the end of this video, you will know:

  • The role technology plays in how productive children are when sleeping and studying
  • The harmful impact technology can have on children’s health and well-being when used irresponsibly as well as the benefits it can bring when used responsibly
  • How to create a productive environment for sleeping and studying
