About This Course

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (often referred to as the D of E Award) was set up in 1956 by Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.  He was inspired to set up this life-changing Award by his former Headmaster at Gordonstoun and it is designed to challenge young people between 14 and 24 to attain standards of achievement and endeavour in a wide variety of interests, to serve their communities, experience adventure and to develop and learn outside of the classroom.  Some 67 years later, the Award is still going strong and hundreds of young people across the world participate in it.
