This course explores the essential role that awareness plays in effective leadership. Through reflection activities, practical examples and leadership self-assessments, you will examine how awareness influences decision-making, responsibility and leadership effectiveness. The course introduces key leadership concepts, including self-awareness, situational awareness, leadership versus management, positional authority versus relational influence, and the difference between being a leader and engaging in leadership. 

By the end of this course, you will have:

  • explored what awareness means in a leadership context and why it matters.
  • learned the distinction between being a leader and actively engaging in leadership behaviour. 
  • defined your leadership clearly and distinguished it from common myths and misconceptions.
